Green website promotes reuse, recycle and resale

With a view to creating an environmentally conscious community, a new website has been launched by professionals from varied backgrounds. www.thinkgreen.in wants to be a platform for an exchange of green ideas that impact life at the local, national and international levels and that help shrink the carbon footprint.
Larry D’Souza, formerly with the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and The Energy Research Institute (TERI), who is leading the initiative, said this philosophy is best exemplified by the famous words of Mahatma Gandhi who said, “The world has enough for man’s need but not
for man’s greed.’’ The larger idea, said D’Souza, was to build a lifestyle based on reuse, recycle, resale.
An e-magazine will keep surfers abreast of the latest information, views and shared experiences about sustainable lifestyles. The endeavour will also seek to collate data and offer solutions to help corporates adopt environmentally friendly practices. It hopes to help the common man to appreciate nature as a precious resource in a simple and downto-earth manner.
A special segment on the site will be aimed at children and school teachers. All those who would like to contribute with news, views, articles and photographs can log on to http://www.thinkgreen.in/.
